2024-10-10

In order to further promote the exchange of personnel between China and foreign countries, China has decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries and trial visa-free policies for ordinary passport holders from Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, and Slovenia. From October 15, 2024 to December 31, 2025, ordinary passport holders from the above-mentioned countries who come to China for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit for no more than 15 days can enter China without a visa. Those who do not meet the visa-free conditions still need to obtain a visa to China before entering.

On October 8th, spokesperson Mao Ning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presided over a routine press conference. A reporter asked about the increase in inbound tourism during the National Day holiday.

Mao Ning said that the increase in "China tourism" shows China's attractiveness and openness. China has achieved full visa exemption with 24 countries, implemented visa-free entry policies for 16 countries, and implemented 72-hour or 144-hour transit visa exemptions for 54 countries. The process for foreign tourists to come to China is constantly being simplified, and the experience in China is constantly being optimized.

Mao Ning said that China's open door policy will become more and more open, and the level of convenience for entry and exit will continue to improve. We welcome more foreign friends to travel to China, appreciate the beautiful mountains and rivers, and experience the charm of China.
