National Theatre of China

With abundant resources for artistic creation and brilliant traditions of theatre culture, National Theatre of China (NTC) is a national-class art troupe directly under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC. Generations of drama predecessors, represented by OUYANG Yuqian, LIAO Chengzhi, WU Xue, SHU Qiang, JIN Shan and SUN Weishi, laid a solid foundation for the founding, development, inheritance and innovation of NTC.

NTC commits itself to creation and performance of high-quality and top-grade Chinese and foreign dramas of both ancient and modern times. NTC aims to produce quality works, attach importance to talent cultivation and expand the market with keen determination.

NTC has three modern theatres suited for performances of different styles and scales. It sets foothold on Beijing and radiates across the country. Moreover, NTC strengthens exchange and cooperation with overseas theatres; and strives to offer national and international advanced drama achievements to the audiences.

NTC insists on creative concept of "Chinese Original, World Classics and Experimental Exploration", fosters lofty artistic ideals, assumes the responsibility of drama culture, stands firm for the aesthetic pursuit of the times and philosophy of scientific management, shapes up the national artistic image, and endeavours to give full play to the representative role, demonstrator role and guider role of a national-class art troupe.
