Beautiful 'Pear Blossom Terraces' deep in the mountains on the outskirts of Beijing

2025-04-02

In the spring of Beijing, pear blossoms bloom white on a tree, reflecting the beauty of spring.

Recently, two hundred-year-old pear trees in the Ming Dynasty ancient temple Zhihua Temple in Lumicang Hutong, Dongcheng, bloomed as scheduled. The pure white pear blossoms, against the backdrop of the vermilion ancient buildings, attracted many citizens and tourists to come and take photos, experiencing the unique "spring limited edition" poetic scene of Beijing.

Friendly reminder:

Zhihua Temple implements a limited flow reservation visit from March 20th to April 30th.

During this period, 2000 ticket quotas are available on each open day. Citizens and tourists can reserve tickets online through the "Zhihua Temple" WeChat official account ticketing system up to 5 open days in advance, with updates at 21:00. Tickets will no longer be sold at the ticket office.

At the same time, 1000 free visit quotas are available on each open day (excluding 200 free visits on Wednesdays), only for various groups eligible for free policies. Details of the free visitor groups are available on the ticketing system page announcement. On the day of the visit, you need to present your relevant ID or certificate at the ticket office to receive a free ticket on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last.

Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-17:00 (last entry at 16:30). Closed on Mondays (except for legal holidays).

To appreciate the picturesque pear blossom scenery, besides Zhihua Temple and other places in Beijing, will also make you linger and forget to return.

01 Daxing Thousand-Mu Pear Orchard

Daxing Thousand-Mu Pear Orchard is a large area with a variety of ancient pear trees that bloom early, known as the "Chinese Pear Town." After the pear blossoms bloom, the ancient pear trees in the garden are pure white like snow. In the villages of Panggezhuang, the pear trees in thousands of acres are like snowflakes floating on the trees. From a distance, under the deep blue sky, the continuous white flowers form a sea of flowers, giving this ancient pear orchard a charming veil.

Recommended viewing time: From now until mid-April, the Qingming Festival holiday is the season for appreciating pear blossoms.
